I’ve had a good day today, I met Mandy, Emma, Oliver, Billy and Gerry for coffee in Costa in the new part IOC St Enochs shopping mall. Henk came along after to give Emma her business cards which look really good, she’s almost set to launch her recruitment company which I think is really cool. I think she’ll do well cos she’s such a people person and somehow manages to find something to talk to anyone about. I envy that :)

After I said bye to them I went to Hamleys cos Mandy said she saw my Halo Wars tank so I wanted to see what other ones they had. They only one (which I of course bought) which is the Hawk plane. Will construct that tomorrow.

Next I took a trip to Frasers to get a vallance for my bed since the one on my bed just now is Ross and Gills and I’m just waiting for them to demand it back. However the only one they had was £24 so I didn’t buy it. On the way out I had a look at the alarm clocks to see if they had any that were iPhone compatible, they did! I got a wicked cool Sony one that has a huge screen. It was a bit pricey though at £75 and that was at half off! I need a bedside light up clock anyway so I got it :) kinda hilarious that I can buy an alarm clock at £75 but £24 is too much for a sheet :P

After that I went to USC to see what shoes they had and had the most embarassing moment ever. I’ve got a bit of a sore throat just now so I bought some Lemsip all in one capsules to get rid of it before it becomes a cold. I went into my bag to get one out and when I pushed it to pop it out the bag the capsule burst! Since I was doing it in my bag nobody knew what I was doing and when I pulled my hand out my bag it had some white powder on it, so of course my nose would get itchy then. Without thinking I rubbed my hand across it, noticing a staff member was staring at me. She quickly looked away but kept giving me furtive glances, typically my nose got even itchier but I didn’t dare rub it until I was out the store. Mortified I headed to get the train home.

Tonight Paula and Kirstin are coming round for pizza, movies and chat. Should be fun! I think we’re gonna watch Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs which looks kinda funny.

I got bored of waiting around for Ross & Gill to move their stuff out so I moved it all into the spare room for them and moved in to my new room. It’s a lot airier than my old room and so far I’m liking that.

Is I really Christmas eve already? The time since Tim left has just flew by, it feels like forever since he was here but in fact it’s only been three weeks.

I’m on my way into town just now to pick up my last Christmas present, which is funny considering I had them all bought by the end of November. This was a time restricted one so I couldn’t have got it sooner.

I’m meeting up with my Dad an Lorene for a coffee which should be nice, tho my dad suggested finding somewhere we could sit outside. It’s -7 outside so I think that idea will be nixed.

Tonight I’m having dinner with Mum, Linzi and Callum which should be good. After dinner mum an I are gonna watch Bad Santa and then open presents. Once that’s done I’m gonna watch Love Actually with Tim and then head to bed since it’ll be a long day tomorrow.

To everyone reading this I hope you have the merriest of Christmases and all the best for 2010!

Wow what a week. Is it really already over? It seems like it was only yesterday Tim was arriving and yet at the same time it feels like it has been weeks since it was last Saturday. I can’t believe how much we did in 6 days.

Saturday: We had dinner with Linzi and Callum then their friends Andy and Porto came over and we played Catchphrase into the wee hours. I invited a new word while drunk: chatitive.

Sunday: We met Mandy, Emma and Oliver for coffee then added my Dad and Lorene for lunch which was super yummy. My Dad and Lorene gave us an extremely generous engagement present. We had dinner with my mum and then headed to bed.

Monday: We met Paula and Kirstin for lunch at my work then went to the Bruce Hotel so Tim could see it. Had dinner again with my mum and watched some shows.

Tuesday: Inverness. Was as good as it could’ve been.

Wednesday: We headed into town aiming to do kilts and cakes but ended up spending all afternoon in House of Fraser doing a wedding list. Such fun! Had dinner with Chris and Andrew then home.

Thursday: Met Amy for coffee, then a movie, then dinner and finally some drinks with the addition of Paula and Kirstin. Much fun (and alcohol) was had.

Friday: Finally did cakes and kilts, then to Dad and Lorenes for dinner with them, Mandy, Emma, Linzi, Callum, Ross and Gill.

Saturday: Got up very early and took Tim to airport.

As its rapidly approaching Christmas (it was 10 weeks to go yesterday) I’ve begun thinking what to get people. But more importantly I’ve been updating my wish list with things I would love to get. Here’s a rundown of my top 5:

1) Tim – I don’t wanna be alone this christmas so if by some miracle Santa could get him here to spend the holidays with me, that’d be fanfreakintastic.

2) Kindle – I buy too many books and most of them are impulse buys of books in sale/offers. Also, books are heavy, especially hardbacks.

3) Uncharted 2 – I’m playing through and loving the first and the second currently has a 96 rating on Metacritic.

4) A winter version of my Superdry jacket – The one I have just now is just not thick enough.

5) Peace on earth and goodwill to all men – No, seriously. There’s too much death these days. When was the last time you watched the news and there wasn’t a bit about a shooting or a bombing or a soldier killed here and a kid stabbed there?

As for gifts I’m getting others, this year I’m gonna put more thought into it than I have before. I’ve already thought of things for a few people but some people are REALLY hard to get for.

I went with Linzi to meet Mandy for some coffee today and see Oliver. He’s so smiley! I took some pictures but he wouldn’t smile while my phone was pointed at him.

I also set up a lunch date with Mandy and Emma for the day after Tim arrives as he’s excited to see Oliver.

When someone says to you to “have the balls” to say something to you, yet they “themselves” can’t do the same apparently.

My brother phoned me yesterday to ask if I could pick up a prescription for him if he left the script in the kitchen. Before I could tell him he could use his own two legs to go round and get it, he informed me he had suspected swine flu and has to be contained.

So finally the disease of the pig has arrived at my door. I shall not hide from it. I shall march out and meet it head on. My immune system and I shall push it to the ground and stamp on it’s head.

But in all seriousness, I don’t foresee myself catching it as I really do have a kick ass immune system. A glass of OJ a day, goes a long way people!

So there I am lying in the bath, listening to Bloc Party’s excellent Intimacy, and I look to my left and see my brother has yet another new shower gel. For some reason my brother uses half a bottle a day, but most of it seems to end up on the walls. Anyway, I give it a sniff and think hm, quite nice maybe I’ll give it a go tomorrow. I look at the bottle to see it’s made by Adidas…..what? Adidas make shower gel? OK. I can get that. Branching out for maximum exposure and all. What I don’t get is the name of this scent, “exhilarating”. I can understand “invigorating” and “energizing” but “exhilarating”? Are people supposed to smear this on their bodies and then feel exhilarated? How does that even work? I think you’re a bit TOO into shower gel if you get exhilarated by it. But then here I am writing a blog post about it, so go figure.
